About the Lodge

Towering riverine forests, open savannah, seasonal floodplains, permanent lagoons, rivers and the intricate channels
of the Okavango Delta surround the camp and makes for a varied habitat that ensure the safari traveller the opportunity to experience year-round boating and mokoro trips as well as extensive game drives.

Xakanaxa is located in the heart of The Moremi Game Reserve, rated as one of Africa’s most beautiful game reserves, offering sanctuary to abundant herds of elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lechwe, wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, sable antelope and much, much more. Lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena complete the picture. Birding is also spectacular, especially during spring and summer when the migrants breed

Lodge Amenities

• Thirteen tents in total consisting of:12 x twin bedded tents – can be arranged as single or double beds,1 x guide/pilot tent (same standard as guest tent)
  The camp can accommodate a maximum of 24 guests

Why Visit

• Superb site on the bank of the permanent flowing Khwai River in front of camp and overlooking the Xakanaxa Lagoon.

Interesting Facts

• Best time to travel:All year round.
• Children:Children over the age of 6 years are welcome. Families with children aged 6-11 will be required to book private activities at an additional cost, the nature of which may be subject to the discretion of the managers or guides.Should a family consist of two or more children, parents will need to split up and share with children in separate tents.
• Guest safety:The lodge is not fenced off and we request guests be extremely vigilant at all times.There are no family units available therefore one child under the age of 12 years can share with 2 adults (and a separate camper bed will be placed in tent).
• Languages:English.
• Currency:Botswana Pula/ US Dollars.

Activities

• Game Drives via open Land Rovers. ( 4 Land Rovers each with the seating capacity of 10, however we only accommodate
  6 / 8 guests per vehicle)
• Water game viewing via mokoro. This activity is of a 30 minute duration and is done in conjunction with a powerboat exploration of the Okavango. (4 mokoro each seating two guests)
• Power boating available year round (3 x 8-seater boats)
• The Moremi Game Reserve regulations do not currently permit Off road driving, night driving, walking safaris and fishing.
